Professional Standards & Client Protection
Coastal Tax is a professional tax preparation and advisory firm serving individuals, families, small businesses, partnerships, corporations, trusts, estates, and nonprofit organizations.
Authorized Paid Tax Return Preparation
Paid federal tax return preparers are required to maintain an IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number, commonly known as a PTIN. Coastal Tax preparers who prepare and sign federal tax returns maintain the required PTINs and include paid preparer information on returns as required.
The IRS explains that tax professionals with a PTIN are authorized to prepare federal tax returns, although different professionals may have different credentials, experience, and representation rights.
Business Insurance
Coastal Tax maintains business insurance appropriate for its tax preparation and related professional services. Clients may request a certificate of insurance when needed.
Secure Client Process
We use secure document exchange, written engagement terms, professional tax preparation software, review procedures, and electronic filing systems to help keep the tax preparation process organized, accurate, and secure.
Clear Scope of Services
Coastal Tax is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Tax preparation, tax notice support, bookkeeping, payroll, advisory services, and representation-related services are provided only when separately agreed to in writing.
